Composite horary charts

1by Bulletbobb

I moved this over from the general forum, where it shouldn't have been placed.

I have just finished re-reading an article in Considerations on the horary composite chart, and I wonder if anyone on this forum has had any experience with them? The article was rather brief, and gave only one example. The author, Eric Weil, wrote a book on the subject, in French, but other than that I haven't been able to find much on the topic.

Those interested can google 'considerations magazine', and this will take you to their website, where all past issues are available. The article is in Vol. XVI, p.57.

Regards,

Bob

Hi Bob, what exactly is a horary composite chart?
I looked up the article but it is blurred on my computer and I can't read it.

I read the article, which is only 2 and a half pages, and it's still not clear to me what a horary composite chart is. The author shows a late degree ASC horary, and then throws in the "HCC," which didn't seem necessary for the interpretation anyway, whatever it is. Composite horary charts - Skyscript Astrology Forum (1) Maybe someone else who knows more about this can shed some light. Perhaps it involves the perfection of the aspects of significators or something.

It works fine on mine also. I can't imagine why it might be blurred but you might consider updating your flash player (which is what is used to view it).

Pallas, did you click on the article in order to zoom in? The small print is blurry on my computer, too, but zooming in makes the type very clear.

For those who are interested in reading the article, it can be a little tricky to locate - Here's a direct link: http://issuu.com/considerations/docs/16-1

At the top center of the page, where it says 1/100, type in 57 (57/100), hit Enter and it will take you directly to the article - then click once on the article to make it bigger (or select the Full Page option at the left-hand side of the screen). I'm so glad that this wonderful journal had been made freely available - it's a real treasure.

In the introduction ,the author says he creates a composite between the horary and the client's natal chart. It isn't obvious from the example because he does not show the natal chart at all.

I've often thought of doing this but never actually tried it.

The reason I never did and as Tanit says above it doesn't seem necessary for the interpretation of horary anyway.

That said - I can see no reason why it wouldn't work.

Paul's right, I have a problem with FlashPlayer and I keep downloading it again but it doesn't work. And I don't have a tech head to sort it out.

I can see some limited use in a synastry between the natal and the hoary... but a composite? Guess I don't know enough about composites in the first place..

It's not a relationship composite, as the horary was not a romantic question, it's some sort of chart that is related to the horary somehow. They never explained how they did it, and the 2nd chart has no natal information. The first chart is the horary and has the time of the question, etc., but it's like you're supposed to be psychic about what the "HCC" is... There is mention of "primary direction and secondary direction" being important in horary. Primary direction of the horary?

Amelia - you're probably right about the natal composite with horary. He calls the two charts the radical chart and the horary chart though. Is a "radical" chart a natal chart composite with a horary? Horaries aren't radical unless they are in a composite with natal? Composite horary charts - Skyscript Astrology Forum (2) Um...

The author assumes we know what he's talking about.

I work as a web developer. I noticed a while back that there was a particular bug with Flash player on some browsers. Do you use internet explorer? It's good web 'safety' to not use IE. It's notoriously buggy and actually is so security flawed (regardless of their propaganda to the contrary) that it opens your computer to malicious attack anyway. My advice would be to download Firefox or Opera and use one of them. They're both free, they render web pages better and they're more secure. If you then install the flash player for these browsers (which only takes a minute or two) you should find the problem is fixed.

Thanks Paul.. I use Firefox already. My son added Macromedia Flash thingy that actually makes the videos, and also GoogleChrome when I wasn't looking and it seems to date from then. Sorry everyone, maybe we should take this to PM?

The HCC is nothing more than a composite of the natal chart of the querant and the horary question. The natal chart isn't given, as it is unnecessary for the purposes of the article. I assume everyone knows how to do a composite chart: you simply add the two Mars' and divide by two, and so on for all the other planets and angles. The computer will do it for you. It should be possible to derive the natal chart from the data given, tho I see no point in doing so.

It is apparent from the responses that no one knows any more about horary composite charts than I do. The results I have been getting from my sports astrology project using this technique are extraordinary. I will post them on the sports forum when I've done a bit more research.

Stay tuned,

Bob
