The chapter starts with An saying that they will be running an isotopic cisternography which, in other words, she would be putting radioactive material in his body. A says to not worry after seeing worried faces as the practice is quiet and safe.
But putting radioactive material in a body means that one would get exposed from within, to which An says that while it is the true, fast physical half-life of this substance will make the human body excrete around 50% of it by the end.
The patient says that he would take the chance even if there is no guarantee that it would be effective. Promises to answer every query of the wife of the patient and asks her to come to her whenever she feels uneasy about anything, which the woman appreciates.
Answers all the questions she gets asked by the wife in regard to the test of the man. She tells why it is necessary; the disease is suspected to be called post-traumatic cerebrospinal fluid leak, which is caused by the leakage of CSF from the dura mater, causing problems.
The examination is called Radionuclide cisternography, performed by photographing the flow of radiation emitted from the isotope that is injected into the body. An manages to convince the wife by telling her all about the test, which then leads to her asking An to go ahead with the test.
The scene shifts to Iori talking to the other doctor when An comes in and thanks him for the cerebral cistern CT. An and Iori walk away, talking while Hirose watches them walk away.
An and Iori reach to the nuclear medicine laboratory where Mr. Ueda is waiting, and An starts with the test. Iori and An worked together on the test. When the scans come out, they notice that his cord looks a lot like a Dinosaur tail, and when a CSF leak happens, there is a place where the fluid leaked from, and that accumulation will result in a fluid pattern that makes it look like a Dinosaur tail.
They conform to the couple that it is a cerebrospinal fluid leak without any doubt. The man asks f he could get treatment with it, and An says that it can be treated with a Blood Patch, but it might result in his chances to recover as a professional athlete may be difficult but not over.
