18 WINSTON-SALEM JOURNAL Wednesday, September 30, 1987 DEATHS AND CLINE Mrs. Maggie Moorefield Cline, 92, formerly of Peachtree widow of A.D. Cline, died Monday at Pell Care Nursing Center. She was born December in 18, Rockingham 1894 to County, of. and Cora Wilson.

She lived most of her life in Winston-Salem. Mrs. Cline attended Tucker Street Church of Christ as long as her health permitted. Surviving are a daughter, Betty Jane Moorefield, Jacksonville, one son, Wesley Moorefield, Rt. 2, Thomasville; seven grandchildren; 12 greatgrandchildren; and two brothers, Wilbert Wilson, Thomasville, and Jesse Wilson, Butler St.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Waughtown Cemetery by Mr. James Percival. The family will receive friends from Matin 9 p.m. tonight at Vogler's Street Chapel.

DULL MOCKSVILLE Mrs. Margaret MOCKSVILLE Mrs. Margaret Langston Dull, 59, 100 Circle Drive, died Sunday night at her home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. today at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church by Rev.

Dull was born in Davie County to the late Macy and Sadie Harris Langston. She was educated at Farmington School, Draughn's Business College and Forsyth Technical Institute. She was retired from R.J.R./Nabisco and was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church. Mrs. Dull was a member and past state president the National Secretaries Association, had held all offices in the local chapter and was voted Secretary of the Year.

She was preceded in death by a foster daughter, Shelia Collette Grubb Chrissman. Surviving are her husband, Vernon Dull, of the home; one daughter, Tina Dull, Mocksville; three sisters, Mrs. Maxine L. Carter and Mrs. Rachel Howard, both of Mocksville, and Mrs.

Nell L. Nielson, Charlotte; a foster granddaughter, Kendra Kristen Grubb, Lexington; and several nieces and nephews. (Eaton's Funeral Home) ECKENROD MOUNT AIRY Mrs. Alma Leah Bowman Eckenrod, 87, 1019 Willow widow of William Rudolph Eckenrod, died Tuesday morning. She was born in Patrick County, Va.

on April 10, 1900, daughter of the late Newton and Nora Clement Bowman. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church. Mrs. Eckenrod and her husband were the operators of Eckenrod's Studio of Mount Airy for 50 years. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs.

Mildred Eckenrod Jones, Mount Airy; one son, William R. Eckenrod, Mount Airy; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Lela B. Collins, Mount Airy, and Mrs. Gertrude B.

Bradley, Ararat, Va. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Moody Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Paul Ridolfi and Rev. Bill Haire.

for 29 years, retiring in 1977, and attended Morris Chapel United Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Nonnie Bennett Fulp, of the home; one son, Timothy Lee Fulp, of the home; one sister, Mrs. Annie Williams, Walkertown; and two brothers, Ernest Fulp and Avery Fulp, both of Walkertown. Griffin was born in Advance on November FUNERALS 3, 1905 to Albert O. and Elizabeth Reich Griffin. He lived most of his life in Winston-Salem, and was a member of Calvary Moravian Church. After working a few years with Realty Bond Lumber and Coal Mr. Griffin was employed by several insurance companies in the Triad area, until his retirement in 1978.

In 1971, he was Agent of the Year for the Coastal Plains Life Insurance Company. He was married on February 8, 1934 to Mary Jones Griffin, who survives, of the home. Also surviving are one son, Dr. Albert Griffin, Winston-Salem; one granddaughter, Mary Lynne Griffin; a two grandsons, David Albert Griffin and Michael Briggs Griffin; and one sister, Mrs. Hazel Griffin Williamson, Winston-Salem.

Stratford widow of John H. (Red) Harp, died Tuesday at Baptist Hospital. She had been in declining health for five weeks and seriously ill for two weeks. She was a native of Forsyth County, the daughter of Hillary and Lula McGee Cromer. Mrs.

Harp was a retired processor for Swift Packing Co. and was a member of Missionary Baptist Church, where she worked in the nursery and kindergarten. She was loyal friend, and a loving mother and grandmother. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Mary Cothran, Winston-Salem; three sons, Franklin Harp, Advance, John Harp, Tobaccoville, and Richard Harp, WinstonSalem; one sister, Gladys Taylor, King; 23 grandchildren and 12 Funeral services will be 2 p.m.

Stratford died Monday, September 28, at his home. He was born September 26, 1923 in Forsyth County to James T. and Lula Shore Jones, and lived most of his life in Forsyth County. Mr. Jones owned and operated Hillcrest Golf Course for 35 years and was a member of the P.G.A.

He was a member of Hope Moravian Church. Surviving are his wife, Maureda Hendrix Jones, of the home; two sons daughters-inlaw, Donald T. and Diana Jones, and Bobby T. and Debbie Jones, all of Winston-Salem; three granddaughters, Melissa, Tabitha and Mandy Jones; one brother, J.T. Jones, Winston-Salem; three sisters, Mrs.

Estelle Jones and Mrs. Margie Allen, both of Winston-Salem, and Mrs. Mildred Casper, Gold Hill, N.C.; several nieces and nephews. Mr. Jones was very close to his nephew, Richard Jones, of Winston-Salem.

454 and the Shriners. Mr. Miller was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen Holcomb Miller, in 1978. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lee Walker Miller, of the home; two daughters, Mrs.

PARKS ELKIN Mr. Parks, 74, Rt. 3, died Tuesday afternoon at Forsyth Hospital. He was born in Forsyth County on February 22, 1913 to Roy and Esther Nance Parks. He was a member of Old Fashion Gospel Baptist Church.

He was first married to Mrs. Ruby Cook Parks, who died September 8, 1970. He later married Mrs. Opal Long Parks, who survives, of the home. Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs.

Shelby Parks Carter, Elkin; two sons, Donald Grey Parks, Glade Valley; Johnny Allen Parks, Elkin, and two stepchildren, Mrs. Patty Dehart, Winston-Salem, and Mr. Terry Long, Hamptonville; four sisters, Mrs. Ethel Martin, Mrs. Grace Lemon and Mrs.

Lettie Evans Community Lexington, died Monday evening at her home. She was the widow of Fred W. Tesh, who died in 1934. She was born April 20, 1893 in Davidson County to Charles E. and Carrie Tesh Tesh, and lived her entire life in Davidson County.

Mrs. Tesh was a very active member of Enterprise Moravian Church as long as her health permitted. She was a charter member of Arcadia Grange and was the oldest member of Arcadia Senior Citizens. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. John (Alma Kathryn) Hege and Mrs.

Vergie (Elaine) Nifong, both of Rt. 8, Lexington; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Lala E. Day, WinstonSalem. Funeral services will be 11 a.m.

Goes Down for Repairs JOURNAL STAFF REPORT The telephone system at Tel-Med went down for repairs yesterday at 4 p.m. and won't be working for several weeks. James T.
